Privacy Policy

Your data, in plain words.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

PetPass exists to help a lost pet get back to its owner. We collect only what that takes, we do not sell personal data, and we do not show ads.

Who we are

PetPass is run from Limassol, Cyprus, and is responsible for the personal data described on this page. For any privacy question or request, write to petpasscy@gmail.com.

If you are a pet owner

When you create an account and set up a tag, we store:

  • Your email address and password. The password is stored in protected form by our login provider and we cannot read it.
  • Your name and phone number, if you add them.
  • Your pet's name and whether it is marked as safe or lost.
  • Which tag is linked to which pet.
  • The messages finders send you through PetPass.

We use this to run your account, show your pet's page when the tag is scanned, and pass you messages from the person who found your pet.

If you found a pet and scanned a tag

You do not need an account. If you send the owner a message, we store:

  • The name you enter and the message you write.
  • Your phone number, if you choose to add it.
  • Your location, only if you choose to share it.

This is sent to the pet's owner so they can find their pet. Please do not put anything in the message that you would not want the owner to read.

What other people can see

  • Anyone who scans a tag sees the pet's name and its safe or lost status.
  • Your email address and your name are never shown on the pet's page.
  • Your phone number is shown only when your pet is marked as lost and you have switched on direct calls. You can switch this off at any time.

Technical data

  • We use a cookie to keep you logged in.
  • We use your IP address for a short time to limit spam and repeated requests.
  • We use Vercel Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.

Who helps us run PetPass

We use a small number of service providers, and they handle data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase: database and login.
  • Vercel: website hosting and visit statistics.
  • Resend: emailing you the messages finders send.
  • Upstash: spam protection.

These providers may store or process data on servers outside Cyprus.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, your pets and your messages for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete the data linked to it. If you found a pet and want your message removed, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Email petpasscy@gmail.com and we will reply within one month.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
